Instrument Cluster Display/Backlighting Faulty

SITUATION
The instrument cluster display/backlighting is faulty.

The display in the instrument cluster comes on/goes out.

CAUSE
Internal fault in the instrument clusters produced by Siemens VDO between the dates of 01 March 2005 and 15 April 2005. The date can be seen on the white part number label on the instrument cluster in dd.mm.yy format.

CORRECTION
Replace the instrument cluster~ then program and code using CIP. Refer to SI B09 05 01 (Coding Programming and Initialization), Procedure A.
