SUBJECT
Aftermarket Radar Detector Sounds Uncontrollably

MODEL
E90 (3 Series) up to April 1, 2005

SITUATION
The radar detector sounds uncontrollably with no radar source present.

CAUSE
Interference from Kathrein roof antenna

PROCEDURE
On a customer complaint basis, replace the roof antenna.

Refer to E60 repair instructions RA 65 20 035 for antenna removal and replacement using special tool 65 2 010.

Note that the existing antenna cover can be re-installed.
