SUBJECT
"Bulb Out" Symbol Displayed in BC

MODEL
E90, E91, E92 (3 Series)





SITUATION
A "Bulb Out" symbol is shown in the BC (Board Computer), however all bulbs appear to work correctly.

Fault codes "931F Rear fog lamp left faulty" and "9320 Rear fog lamp right faulty" are stored in the FRM (Footwell Module).





CAUSE
The cause of the "Bulb Out" warning is a faulty BFD (Brake Force Display) bulb (1).

If a faulty bulb is found, please check the bulb and contact and repair as required.

GENERAL INFORMATION
The description of faults "931F Rear fog lamp left faulty" and "9320 Rear fog lamp right faulty" will be changed to "931F - Rear fog light / US: Brake Force Display left defective" and "9320 - Rear fog light / US: Brake Force Display right defective" in DIS V49.

Note:
In case of a check control warning, always check the CC ID number first. There is no need to connect to the GT1.

Perform the following steps to check the CC ID number:
1. Switch on ignition (KL-R or KL-15)
2. Toggle rotary switch on direction indicator switch to bring up "Check Control"
3. Briefly press the on-board computer button
4. Select the Check-Control message required with the rocker switch
5. Press the on-board computer button for longer than 2 seconds
6. The following message will appear in the bottom line of the LCD display for approx. 2 seconds:"CC-ID xxx"

The CC numbers for a faulty BFD bulb are 372 (Left) and 373 (Right).
