SUBJECT
Airbag Warning Lamp Illuminated, FC 93C1/93C3

MODEL
E90, E91 (3 Series) Vehicles produced to October 15, 2006

SITUATION
The red airbag warning lamp is illuminated and fault code 93C1, or both 93C1 and 93C3 are stored in the MRS5 (Multiple Restraint System) control module.

93C1 - Communication fault with seat occupancy detector - passenger.

93C3 - Seat occupancy detector - passenger.

CAUSE
Wiring/connector fault, or under-seat connector damage caused by rear seat passenger.

CORRECTION
[NEW] This problem has been integrated into DIS diagnostics. Follow diagnostics and relevant test plan using DIS V49.0 or later.
