SUBJECT
Side Marker Lamp not Working in Conjunction with Welcome Light

MODEL
E63, E64 (6 Series) produced up to March 1, 2008

SITUATION
The customer may complain that the side marker lamps do not illuminate when the welcome lights are activated. The welcome lights illuminate when pressing the unlock button on the remote key. The welcome lights include the interior lights, mirror entry lights and side marker lights.

CAUSE
Coding error in the lamp control module

CORRECTION
The problem has been integrated into ISTA diagnostics. Using the latest ISTA version, select "Information search/Function structure/Body/Lights/Interior lights". Then press "Start search" and select the test plan W6300_WAS13 Side marker lamps for welcome light inoperative.
