SUBJECT
Poor Performance From Heating and Air Conditioning System

MODEL
E65, E66 (7 Series) from 3/05 production

SITUATION
The customer states that when "AUTO" mode is used on the heating and air conditioning system, the system performance is poor (heating/cooling not up to customers expectations).

CAUSE
Climate control settings in Control Display not set for maximum performance.

PROCEDURE
Always verify the customer complaint based on the customers heating and air conditioning control panel settings.

For maximum cooling performance the customer should select the "MAX" A/C button. This function will provide the following:
- Temperature is switched to lowest temperature
- System switched to recirculated-air mode
- Maximum air flow from center vents
- If the customer prefers using the "AUTO" mode proceed to check the settings as outline below.

1. Enter into the Climate Control menu of the Control Display.
2. Adjust the stratified vent temperature settings (1) by using the controller to hot/cold setting.
3. Change the "AUTO" mode intensity to medium or high.
4. Change the desired temperature settings for each side to maximum high or low temperature.
5. Recheck the performance of the system.
6. If the system now performs properly, advise the customer of these adjustments.
7. If the system still doesn't perform properly, continue with standard troubleshooting.
