Parking Brake Repair Instructions

INFORMATION
The following points must be adhered to when servicing the parking brake system:
^ When cable replacement is necessary, the parking brake cables must be replaced in pairs.
^ Refer to Repair Instruction RA 34 41 135, "Removing and installing or replacing both Bowden cables for parking brake", when removing or replacing the parking brake cables.
^ If the parking brake must be released manually, the special tool from the onboard tool kit must be used. The use of non-approved tools, such as a power screwdriver, may cause permanent damage to the parking brake actuator (EMF).
^ A maximum torque of 5 Nm must not be exceeded when releasing the parking brake manually. Excessive force at the end stop may permanently damage the parking brake actuator (EMF).
WARRANTY INFORMATION
Parking brake actuators which are damaged due to misuse or improper repair procedures are not covered under warranty.
