11 12 8AZ - M10 Cylinder head bolts (N73)








Replace cylinder head bolts. Do not wash off coating
Install new cylinder head bolts with washers and initially tighten without play
Jointing torque 30 Nm
Torque angle 90°
Torque angle 90°

11 12 719 - Resurfacing cylinder head sealing face (N73)





Check evenness of cylinder head sealing face with a standard straight-edge (1).

Note:
Max. deviation from level (longitudinal) 0.10 mm





Check evenness of cylinder head sealing face with a standard straight-edge (1).

Note:
Max. deviation from level (transversal) 0.05 mm





Note:
A 0.3 mm thick cylinder head gasket is available for machined (milled) cylinder heads.

11 31 1AZ Left exhaust camshaft bearing cap nuts (N73)





First pass: Fit bearing cover
Second pass: Tighten down nuts of bearing bracket for cylinders 7 to 12 in area (1) from inside to outside
M6 10 Nm
M7 14 Nm
M7-8.8 15 Nm
M8 20 Nm
Third pass: Fit bearing cap (2) and tighten down
M6 10 Nm
M7 14 Nm
M7-8.8 15 Nm
M8 20 Nm
Fourth pass: Make sure bucket tappets of high-pressure pump in bearing cap 5 are in correct installation position
Final pass:
M6 10 Nm
M7 14 Nm
M7-8.8 15 Nm
M8 20 Nm

11 31 1AZ - Right exhaust camshaft bearing cap nuts (N73)





First pass: Fit bearing cover
Second pass: Tighten down nuts of bearing bracket for cylinders 1 to 6 in area (1) from inside to outside
M6 10 Nm
M7 14 Nm
M7-8.8 15 Nm
M8 20 Nm
Final pass: Fit bearing cap (2) and tighten down
M6 10 Nm
M7 14 Nm
M7-8.8 15 Nm
M8 20 Nm

M10x1 Replace screws 80 Nm
