Removing And Installing Complete Exhaust System (N62)
Special Tools Required:

Warning:
Scalding hazard!
Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.





Support exhaust system with special tool 31 2 220

Note: Weight of exhaust system is approximately 40 kg.





Release nuts of flanges on both exhaust manifolds with integrated catalytic converter.

Installation:
Replace self-locking nuts.





Release nuts.





Release nuts.

Remove reinforcement plate.

Warning: Risk of injury! Removal of exhaust system must be carried out with assistance of a second person.

Note: Weight of exhaust system is approximately 40 kg.





Release nut.

Detach rubber element from holder.





Release nut.

Remove holder of rear muffler.





Release nut.

Remove holder on tailpipe.

Detach hose from vacuum unit.

Carefully lower exhaust system.
