Key Variant Error

SITUATION

When using the Key Reader, the following error message appears: "Data cannot be shown: The current key data do not have a valid key variant. The SAM software cannot process this key. Contact DCS Help Desk".

CAUSE

During vehicle production, the key variant, which defines the format of the key, was not written into the memory of the immobilizer.

CORRECTION

Using DIS V43.0 or higher, perform test module B6135_00012 using the following steps:

^ Function selection / Service Function / Body / Immobilizer / Write key variant.

^ Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the test module.

^ Reinsert the key in the key reader and data will now be displayed.
