Removing and Installing/Replacing Left or Right Rear Light (On Rear Lid) (From 09/06)

63 21 183 - Removing and installing/replacing left or right rear light (on rear lid) (from 09/06)





Important!
Read and comply with notes on protection against electrostatic damage (ESD protection) 61 35 ... Notes on ESD Protection (Electro Static Discharge).





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove panel for rear lid





Release nut (1), gripping the threaded pin (2) with a suitable tool in so doing. Tightening torque 63 21 1AZ Rear Light Unit.
Feed out rear light (3) in direction of arrow and remove in outward direction from rear lid (4).
Disconnect plug connection (5).
Remove socket housing Replacing a Socket Housing for Left or Right Rear Light (From 09/06).

Installation Note:
Make sure sealing washer is fitted on threaded pin (2) between rear light (3) and rear lid (4)
Make sure sealing frame for rear light Replacing Sealing Frame for Left or Right Rear Light (Rear Lid) (From 09/06) is correctly seated on rear light (3)





Installation Note:
Position lugs (1) of rear light (2) exactly over side edge of rear lid (3).
