Lubricate
    Wheel Hub
      Grease wheel centering hubs.
Reset
    Service Reminder Indicators
      Reset Service Interval Indicator. NOTE: Do not reset Service Indicator when additional oil changes (between the normal intervals) are requested by the customer.
Clean
    Brake Caliper
      Clean brake pad contact points in calipers.
Check
    Wiper and Washer Systems
      Check wipers and washer systems; wiper blades, washer jet positions.
    Wheels and Tires
      Check all tire pressures (including spare). Correct if necessary. Record values (psi). Check condition of tires (outer surfaces [left/right], tread wear and pattern; in case of uneven tread wear readjust wheel alignment if requested. NOTE: If requested, rotate all four road wheels as instructed and rebalance.
    Washer Fluid
      Check windshield washer fluid level and antifreeze protection. Fill up and/or correct if necessary. Record freeze point temperature.
    Vehicle
      Road test with check of brakes, suspension, steering, clutch/manual or automatic transmission.
    Transmission and Drivetrain
      Check transmission for leaks.
    Transfer Case
      Check transfer case for leaks.
    Steering and Suspension
      Check steering for absence of play, condition of suspension track rods, front axle joints, steering linkage and joint disc.
    Seat Belt
      Check condition and function of safety belts.
    Restraints and Safety Systems
      Visually examine the SRS airbag units for torn covers, obvious damage or attachment of decals, decorations or accessories.
    Rear Defogger
      Check rear window defogger.
    Power Steering
      Check power steering system for leaks. Check p/s fluid level; add fluid if necessary.
    Parking Brake System
      Check parking brake actuation. Adjust if necessary. Burnish parking brake. Check thickness of parking brake linings. Record values.
    Mirrors
      Check rear view mirrors.
    Locks
      Check central locking/double lock.
    Lighting and Horns
      Check lighting system, i.e headlights, foglights, parking, back-up, license plate, interior (including map reading lights), glove box, flashlight (if equipped), illuminated make-up mirrors, luggage area lights. Check turn signals, hazard warning flashers, brake lights, horns, headlight dimmer/flasher switch.
    Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators
      Check instrument panel and dashboard illumination. Check all warning/indicator lights, check control.
    Heating and Air Conditioning
      A/C
    Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints
      Half-shafts (front and rear): Check for leaks at flexible boots.
    Doors, Hood and Trunk
      Check operation of all latches.
    Differential Assembly
      Rear
    Diagnostic Readout Box
      Read out diagnostic system.
    Cooling System
      Check engine cooling system/heater hose connections for leaks. Check coolant level and antifreeze protection level; add coolant if necessary. Record freeze point temperature. NOTE: Coolant has a lifetime rating which does not require periodic replacement.
    Brakes and Traction Control
      Check overall thickness of front and rear disc brake pads (outer pads only) using special tool. Record values. Examine brake disc surfaces. Check thickness of parking brake linings only when replacing rear pads. Record values.
    Brake Hose/Line
      Check brake system connections and lines for leaks, damage, and incorrect positioning.
    Brake Fluid
      Check level of brake fluid in reservoir. Add fluid if required.
    Body and Frame
      Inspect entire body according to terms of rust perforation limited warranty (must be performed at least every two years).
    Blower Motor
      Check heater/air conditioner blower fan.
    Battery
      Check battery state-of-charge; and charge if required.
Replace
    Oil Filter, Engine
      Change oil filter while engine is at operating temperature.
    Fluid - Transfer Case
      Change oil in transfer case only if prompted by diagnostic short test (FC OX54C6).
    Engine Oil
      Change oil while engine is at operating temperature. We recommend BMW High Performance Synthetic oil, p/n 07 51 0 017 866.
    Cabin Air Filter / Purifier
      Replace microfilter. NOTE: reduce replacement interval in dusty operating conditions.
    Air Filter Element
      Replace intake air cleaner element. NOTE: reduce replacement interval in dusty operating conditions.
