SUBJECT
Delayed Upshift May Occur Uphill in 3rd or 4th Gear

MODEL
E83, X3 with M54 and GM5

SITUATION
The customer complains that the transmission will not upshift, usually after going up a slight incline, and stays in either 3rd or 4th gear too long.

CAUSE
Calibration sensitivity in the Hill recognition program of the EGS transmission module.

[NEW] CORRECTION
Program the EGS using the latest version of ISTA/P.

The latest EGS calibration can be identified by the appropriate program number:
