Reinforcement Plate Remove and Install

Reinforcement Plate Remove & Replace.

Important!
Observe safety instructions for raising the vehicle.

Driving without reinforcement plate is not permitted!
Remove Front Splash Guard.
Remove expander rivet.
Release screws.
Remove reinforcement plate.

Replacement only:
If necessary, unclip cover at frontand cover with absorber at rear.


Front Axle Suspension Tightening
Axle carrier to engine carrier
X5 (E53)
M12 10.9 100 Nm.

X3 (E83)
Front 10,9 - 75 Nm
Middle (M10) - 75 Nm


Front end of front axle carrier to body.
- E83 M12 10,9 113 Nm

Front axle subframe rear / middle to body.
- E83 M12 10,9 100 Nm
- E83 M10 56 Nm

Reinforcement Plate to Front Axle Support/Engine Carrier
E53. X5
Replace Scews and Nuts,
Jointing Torque 56 Nm.
Plus torque Angle 90° plus or minus 15 °.

E83 X3
Replace Screws.
M10 74 Nm.
