Adjusting Rear Axle (With KDS)

Note:
A change in camber also means a change in toe; this means that camber must be adjusted first.

Adjusting camber with eccentric screw of swinging arm/rear axle support:
Nut (1) must be replaced.
Eccentric screw (2) must be located between stops (3).
Tighten down new nut (1).
Tightening torque:
- Swinging arm to rear axle support
- Front 100 Nm
Note: Tighten in empty weight or normal position.
- Rear
- M14 165 Nm
Note: Tighten in empty weight or normal position.

Slacken nut (1) approx. a 3/4 turn.

Caution:
If the nut (1) is tightened down more than 4 times during adjustment, it must be replaced. The self-locking effect becomes too slight.





Turn eccentric screw and adjust camber exactly to specified value.

Note:
The eccentric screw must be located between the stops (1).
Tighten down nut.
Tightening torque:
- Swinging arm to rear axle support
- Front 100 Nm
Note: Tighten in empty weight or normal position.
- Rear
- M14 165 Nm
Note: Tighten in empty weight or normal position.





Adjusting toe-in with eccentric screw of traction strut/rear axle support:
Release nut (1) with special tool 32 3 151/152 and remove.

Note:
Unscrew a stubborn nut with special tool 32 3 152.





Nut (1) must be replaced.
Eccentric washer (2) must be located between stops.
Tighten down new nut (1) with special tool 32 3 151/152,
tightening torque,
- Control arm to rear axle support, toe-in adjustment 59 Nm
Note: Tighten in empty weight on normal position with special tool 32 3 150 and torque wrench Hazet 6291-ICT

Slacken nut (1) approx. a 3/4 turn.

Caution:
If the nut (1) is tightened down more than 4 times during adjustment, it must be replaced. The self-locking effect becomes too slight.





Turn eccentric screw and adjust toe-in exactly to specified value.
Tighten down nut with special tool 32 3 151/152,
tightening torque:

- Control arm to rear axle support, toe-in adjustment 59 Nm
Note: Tighten in empty weight on normal position with special tool 32 3 150 and torque wrench Hazet 6291-ICT
