Mounting Engine on Assembly Stand

Mounting engine on assembly stand (N62)
Special Tools Required:

(Engine Removed)

Unscrew exhaust manifold.

Installation:
Clean sealing faces, replace gaskets.
Coat threads with copper paste.
Replace nuts.
Exhaust manifold to cylinder head
Coat screw connections with Molykote HSC paste
M6 10 Nm
Note: Replace Nuts
M7 20 Nm
Note: Replace Nuts.
M8 23 Nm
Note:Replace nuts.





Fit engine to special tool 00 1 450

Caution: Only raise engine on locating lugs provided for this purpose.

Raise engine with special tool 11 0 000





Remove carrier bracket on cylinder bank 1 to 4.

Fit special tool 11 9 401 to cylinder bank 1 to 4.





Remove carrier bracket on cylinder bank 5 to 8.

Fit special tool 11 9 402 to cylinder bank 5 to 8.





Install engine in special tool 00 1 450

Snap locking pin (1) into place.

Close locking detent (2) on right and left and screw down.
