Replacing Bulb For Left Xenon Headlight

WARNING: Follow instructions for handling light bulbs (exterior lights).

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- M54 only: Remove suction filter housing

M62 only:







Release screws (1) and remove equipment carrier (2).

N62 only:







Release screws (1).

NOTE: Make sure cover caps (3) and (4) are firmly seated.

Lay equipment carrier (2) to one side.

Up to 10/2003:







NOTE: For purposes of clarity, illustration shows component removed.

Release screws (1) and remove protective cap (2).

Installation:
If necessary, replace seal of protective cap (2).







Turn ignition unit plug connection (1) counterclockwise through approx. 45 degrees and disconnect.
Turn snap ring (2) counterclockwise through approx. 45 degrees.
Remove lamp for xenon light.

From 10/2003:

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Release ignition unit for left xenon headlight







Press locking clip (1) and open in direction of arrow.
Remove bulb for xenon headlight (2) in direction of arrow.
