Tie Rod End: Service and Repair


Replacing left or right tie rod

Caution:
Adjust front axle after assembly, refer to Alignment, Service and Repair.

Remove front wheel.

Release nut and detach tie rod with special tool 32 3 090.

Installation:
Remove grease from pin and bore.
Replace self-locking nut.
Tightening torque:
- Tie rod end nut 80Nm
Important! Tie rod end with split-pin hole must not be bolted with a self locking nut.





Determine distance (A) - makes wheel alignment easier.
Release nut.
Unscrew tie rod end while counterholding on tie rod.

Installation:
Mount clamping ring (1).
Screw in tie-rod end to distance (A).
Tightening torque:
- Tie rod clamping nut 51 Nm
