The (E85) Z4 is equipped with either the M54 B 2.5L or M54 B 3.0L engine.
The (M54) engine is adapted for use in the (E85) Z4 and the changes include:

^ Engine peripherals:
- Cooling system
- Exhaust system
- Secondary air system
- Fresh air system
- Ancillary components and belt drive
^ MS45 Engine Management System
^ Fuel system
