SUBJECT
Engine Vibration
MODEL
E85, E86 M Roadster and M Coupe with S54 engine up to 3/08 production
SITUATION
The customer may complain of an engine speed-dependent vibration felt in the vehicle during driving.
CAUSE
Prolonged heat exposure to the right side engine mount bracket, during the engine assembly process, may cause the bolts, which hold the engine bracket to the block, to lose the specified tightening torque.
CORRECTION
Inspect the right side engine mount bracket bolts. If one or more of the engine mount bracket bolts are found to be loose, replace all four engine mount bracket bolts. Refer to Repair Instruction RA 22 11 100 for accessing the bracket and tightening torque.
