Convertible Top Module

The automatic convertible top is a hydraulic convertible top controlled via the Convertible Top Module (CTM). The luggage-compartment-cover lock as well as the convertible top locking mechanism open and close electrically.

Diagnosis Of The Convertible Top Position (Status)
A fault can be pinpointed by reading the status for the corresponding segment using the diagnosis:






Conditions For Convertible Top Movement
- Rear lid closed
- Driving speed less than 30 km/h
- Terminal R or convenience function
- Convertible top compartment floor at bottom

The convertible top can be opened and closed via the controls if the conditions stated for opening the convertible top are adhered to. Furthermore, convertible top operation is possible in both directions from the door lock with the ignition key. The radio-control system can only be used to open the convertible top.


Convertible Top Compartment Floor
The ground-switching switch for �convertible top compartment floor down� signals the position of the convertible top compartment. If the convertible top compartment floor is not lowered, the convertible top cannot be opened. This is indicated by the red LED lighting up in the centre console switch cluster.
