Repair Instruction For Noise From A/C Compressor On Driving Off

Complaint
On driving off at an engine speed of approx. 500-550 rpm, there is a clearly audible noise from the A/C compressor.

Note: The noise can be easily confused with noises from the valve gear (VANOS). Only vehicles with N62 engine!

Cause
A belt pulley made of plastic is fitted at the A/C compressor. The belt pulley vibrates and generates a clearly audible noise.

Repair instruction
Replace the A/C compressor with a modified A/C compressor that has a belt pulley made of steel.
