SUBJECT
Radio Turns Off After 8 Minutes and Time and Date Display is Cleared

MODEL
E60, E61 (5 Series) with option 606 (MASK2)

E63, E64 (6 Series) with option 606 (MASK2)

Produced from June 1, 2007 to June 26, 2007

SITUATION
The radio turns off after 8 minutes instead of 25 minutes in KL-30 mode (radio turned on via the rotary knob with the ignition off).

The time and date display is cleared.

After switching the ignition on, the radio turns back on and the time and date must be reset.

CAUSE
Incorrect coding data in the Body Gateway Module (KGM).

Fault Code "A559 Terminal 30g_f_shutdown" is stored in the Instrument Cluster.

CORRECTION
Do not replace parts.

Program and code the vehicle with the most recent Progman version (target data status E060-07-09-521 or later). Refer to SI B09 05 01 - Coding, Individualization and Programming, Procedure B.

Note that Progman will automatically reprogram all programmable control units that do not have the latest software.

If the appropriate labor operation is not contained in KSD, then a work time labor operation should be used.
