Echo and Reverberation on the Landline during a Hands-free Call

E60, E61 (5 Series)

E63, E64 (6 Series)

E82, E88 (1 Series) with Premium Package (ZPP) or BMW Assist (SA 639)

E90, E91, E92, E93 (3 series) with Premium Package (ZPP) or BMW Assist (SA 639)

Vehicles produced from March 2007 to September 2008

SITUATION
The landline hears an echo and reverberation when the customer makes a hands-free call using his or her Bluetooth handset from the vehicle. A result of this may be low hands-free speaker volume.

CAUSE
TCU 1.5 (Telematics Control Unit) audio algorithm sensitivity can cause signal processing to overload.

E60, E61, E63, E64 vehicles equipped with SA 752 (BMW Individual High End Audio System) Program and code the vehicle with the most recent Progman version (target data status E060-08-03-515 or later). Refer to SI B09 05 01 (Coding, Individualization and Programming), Procedure B.

Note that Progman will automatically reprogram all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.

PROCEDURE 2
E60, E61, E63, E64 vehicles not equipped with SA 752 (BMW Individual High End Audio System) E82, E88, E90, E91, E92, E93

Program and code the vehicle with the most recent Progman version (target data status E060-08-09-515, E89X-08-09-515 or later). Refer to SI B09 05 01 (Coding, Individualization and Programming), Procedure B.

Note that Progman will automatically reprogram all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.
