Removing and Installing/Replacing Left or Right Tail Light (on Rear Lid)

63 21 183 - Removing and installing/replacing left or right tail light (on rear lid)





Important!
Read and comply with notes on protection against electrostatic damage (ESD protection) 61 35 ... Notes on ESD Protection (Electro Static Discharge).





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Open rear light/rear lid cover





Fold foam (1) in direction of arrow out of lower rear lid panel (2).





Slacken nut (1) until clamping jaw (2) can be routed past rear lid (3).
Tightening torque 63 21 1AZ [1][2]Mechanical Specifications.

Installation Note:
Make sure clamping jaw (2) is correctly seated on rear lid (3).

Fold rear light (4) outwards out of rear lid (3).

Disconnect plug connection (5).
Remove rear light (4).





Installation Note:
Position lugs (1) of rear light (2) exactly over side edge of rear lid (3).
