SUBJECT
Radio Has Constant Static Noise

MODEL
E65, E66 (7 Series)

SITUATION
The radio has constant static noise in AM and FM modes only.

CAUSE
Damaged antenna system or defective radio antenna tuner

CORRECTION
In the case of a customer complaint, check the antenna in the rear windshield for damaged wires. For AM/FM radio reception information and radio/antenna system diagnosis, refer to SI B65 01 04.

If no other fault can be found, install a new antenna tuner (located in the C-pillar, driver side).

NOTE:
Only install P/N 65 20 9 111 191. Other part numbers will not be recognized by Progman.
