Removing and Installing/Replacing Rear Seat Sensor

65 77 760 - Removing and installing (replacing) rear seat sensor

Incorrect handling can activate airbag and cause injury.





Note:
Follow instructions for handling optical fibers 61 00 ... Notes on Handling Optical Fibers.





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Disconnect battery negative lead Instructions for Disconnecting and Connecting Battery and cover.
- Remove rear seat (normal) Removing and Installing/Replacing Rear Seat.
- Remove center seat section (comfort seat) Removing and Installing Padding for Left or Right Rear Seat.





Release screws (1).

Installation Note:
Tightening torque 65 77 8AZ Airbag Triggering Control.
Make sure sensor is mounted without play.

Unlock plug connections (2) and disconnect.

Remove rear seat sensor (3).





Replacement:
Carry out coding/programming.
Observe following IDC specifications:
- Programming
- Coding
- Car & Key Memory
- CD "CIP"
