51 71 390 Removing And Installing/Replacing Reinforcement Plate On Rear Axle

Special tools required:
- 00 9 120

IMPORTANT:
- Vehicles must not be driven without reinforcement plates.
- Driving without the reinforcement plate may damage the vehicle body.
- Screws of reinforcement plate must be tightened to torque and then tightened down with special tool 00 9 120.







Release clip.
Release screws (1) and remove heat shield (2).







Unscrew nuts (3).
Release screws (2 and 4) and remove reinforcement plate (1).

Installation:
Replace screws (2 and 4).
- Insert screws.
- Tighten down screws (2) to specified torque and then to angle of rotation.
5AZ Reinforcing plate/ tension strut to rear axle
M10
Note: Replace screws
Note: Jointing torque 59 Nm
Note: Torque angle 90°
- Tighten down screws (4) and nuts (3).
6AZ Stiffening plate to body
M8 21 Nm
