54 34 034 - Removing and installing/replacing complete hydraulic system for Convertible top
Warning!
Soft top becomes pressureless without a warning signal.
For all work, secure soft top with a suitable support tool against collapsing.
Ensure Convertible top is supported in the middle.
Ignition must remain switched off during the repair work.
Failure to comply with this instruction may result in the hydraulic valves incurring preliminary damage.
Note:
Hydraulic circuit remains closed during this operation.
Do not disconnect hydraulic lines from hydraulic cylinders.
This operation comprises the following partial operations:
- Remove hydraulic cylinder Removing and Installing/Replacing Left or Right Hydraulic Cylinder for Convertible Top for Convertible top
- Remove hydraulic cylinder for Convertible top compartment lid
- Remove hydraulic cylinder for clamping bar
- Remove hydraulic control unit for Convertible top drive Service and Repair from side compartment
Unclip hydraulic lines.
Installation Note:
If necessary, replace faulty clips.
Hydraulic lines must not be kinked or transposed.
Unclip hydraulic lines.
Installation Note:
If necessary, replace faulty clips.
Hydraulic lines must not be kinked or transposed.
Left side of car:
Unclip hydraulic lines.
Installation Note:
If necessary, replace faulty clips.
Hydraulic lines must not be kinked or transposed.
Release screws (1).
Tightening torque: 54 34 10AZ 54 34 Motor-Driven Convertible Top (Electrical Components).
Remove support (2) for tensioning bar.
Right side of car:
Unclip hydraulic lines.
Installation Note:
If necessary, replace faulty clips.
Hydraulic lines must not be kinked or transposed.
Release screws (1).
Tightening torque: 54 34 10AZ 54 34 Motor-Driven Convertible Top (Electrical Components).
Remove support (2) for tensioning bar.
