SUBJECT
Stiffness in the Fore and Aft Adjustment of the Seat

MODEL
E90, E91 (3 Series) produced from 8/2008 and NOT equipped with Power Seats (SA 459)

SITUATION
After pulling the adjustment lever for fore and aft adjustment of the front seat, the seat requires significant force to move.

CAUSE





The spring support (1) for the seat rails, which lowers adjustment forces, has been eliminated from production.

CORRECTION
No corrective action is necessary, as this was a running production change.

Installing a new spring support is unnecessary and will not be covered under warranty.
