Adjusting Rear Lid Lock
51 24 004 - Adjusting rear lid lock
Prerequisite:
Rear lid must be correctly adjusted to fit; if necessary, adjust rear lid Adjustments.
For ideal adjustment, refer to Body gap dimensions .
Release protective cap (1) on left/right.
Screw in bump stops (2) fully on left/right.
Unclip cover (1) towards top and remove.
Slacken screws (1) until striker (2) can still just be moved and centres itself.
Important!
Striker (2) must not brush against upper rear lid lock section.
Adjust rear lid at striker until negative rear lid protrusion (A) is obtained on left and right.
A = - 1.0 to 1.5 mm
Note:
Bump stops must not strike against rear lid in the process.
Sum total of negative rear lid depressions (A) on left and right must be between 2 and 3 mm.
Tighten down screws (1).
Tightening torque 51 24 2AZ 51 24 Rear Lid Locks.
Unscrew bump stops (2) on left/right until rear lid is flush with side panel (negative rear lid protrusion 0 mm).
Fit protective cap (1) on left/right.
Check closing comfort, repeat adjustment if necessary.
