Evaporator to Condenser




64 53 691 - Replacing line from evaporator to condenser (N52)





Warning!
Risk of injury!
Refrigerant circuit is under high pressure!
Follow safety instructions for handling R134a refrigerant.
Avoid contact with refrigerant and refrigerant oil.

Important!
Risk of damage!
Restart engine only when A/C system has been correctly filled.
Follow instructions Removal and Replacement for opening and replacing parts in refrigerant circuit.
If A/C system is opened for more than 24 hours:
Replace desiccant insert for A/C system





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Drawing off, evacuating and filling the A/C system Drawing off, Evacuating and Filling A/C System (R 134a) are not included in the time value given for this work operation
- Remove fresh air duct Service and Repair
- Release expansion tank and place to one side





Important!
Risk of damage!
Do not place front panel center section (2) on jump start terminals.
Do not kink Bowden cables for engine hood locking.

Release screws (1).

Remove front panel center section (2) in direction of arrow and place to one side.





Feed out rubber grommet (1).
Release nut (2) and detach refrigerant lines (3 and 4) in direction of arrow.

Installation Note:
Make sure rubber grommet (1) is correctly seated.
Replace sealing rings and moisten with refrigerant oil.
Tightening torque 64 53 7AZ [1][2]Expansion Valve.





Expose refrigerant line up to condenser connection.





Release nuts (1) and remove holder (2).





Release screw (1) and remove refrigerant line (2).
Feed refrigerant line (2) out of engine compartment.

Installation Note:
Replace sealing rings and moisten with refrigerant oil.
Tightening torque 64 53 6AZ [1][2]Expansion Valve.

Replacement:
Modify safety pressure switch Service and Repair.





After installation:
- Evacuate and fill A/C system Drawing off, Evacuating and Filling A/C System (R 134a)
