SUBJECT
CC Message Missing/Incorrect when Parking Light Faulty
MODE
E60 (5 Series) with halogen headlights
SITUATION
For E60 from production date 09/2006 to 03/2007, if a parking light is faulty, the "Tail light defective" CC (Check control) message is displayed.
For E60 from 03/2007 production, if a parking light is faulty, no CC message is displayed.
CAUSE
Software error in the light module
[NEW] CORRECTION
In the case of a customer complaint, program the vehicle with the most recent Progman version (target data status E060-08-09-515 or later). Refer to SI B09 05 01 (Coding, Individualization and Programming), Procedure B.
Note that Progman will automatically reprogram all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.
[NEW] WARRANTY INFORMATION
Covered under the terms of the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty or the Certified Pre-Owned program.
In cases where Progman requires the replacement of control modules or additional programming because certain control modules failed to program correctly, print out the Measures Plan and Final Report as described in the Progman programming procedure (B09 05 01). Attach these reports to the RO in the vehicle file. This additional work should be claimed under the defect code listed in this bulletin, using the labor operation and labor allowance from the KSD.
