Electronic Ride Height Control

Ride-Height Calibration

The height-level sensors in the F01 are connected to the ICM control module across a power supply and signal line. The height-level values are sent across the bus system to the Electronic Ride-Height Control.

On the F01, in contrast to previous models, the following control modules are calibrated simultaneously depending on the equipment fitted:

Electronic Ride-Height Control

ICM control module

After work on the air suspension system involving the control module stated, correction values must be entered in the control modules. These correction values are determined in this test module after entering rim size and actual values on the F01. They are stored automatically in the recognized control modules.

Service functions

Ride-height calibration
Ride-height calibration must be executed after the following operations:
- Replacement of the EHC control module
- Replacement of the ICM control module
- Replacement of height-level sensors
- Replacement of the wiring harness
- Faults 480116 and 480117 stored in the ICM control module

Before the ride-height calibration is run, the following points must be observed:

The vehicle must be in a horizontal position.

The chassis must not be tensioned.

The air suspension must have ceased operation (to be safe, switch the engine on and off).

The power supply must be ensured (check battery voltage).

During the ride-height calibration, the vehicle must not be loaded or unloaded.

Before calibration, check the height once again.

The ride-height calibration is run automatically in the following sequence after entering the rim size and measured actual value (gap between wheelhouse edge / rim flange at bottom):

Recognition of the fitted control modules.

Check of the driving speed if Dynamic Drive is fitted.

Setting the transport mode if level control is fitted.

Reading in the rim size and actual values.

Calibration of the fitted control modules.

After the ride-height calibration, the transport mode is automatically deleted. Control operation starts with the engine running. (In all cases, the transport mode must be deleted again before delivery to the customer).
