Removing and Installing/Replacing Outer Covers on Left or Right Front Seat

52 16 040 - Removing and installing/replacing outer covers on left or right front seat (sport/electric)





Special tools required:
- 51 3 057





Note:
Shown removed here for purposes of clarity.





Move seat upwards.

Lever out lugs (2) of cover from holders (3) towards outside.

1. Plug





Feed in special tool 51 3 057 behind top edge of cover (1) and pass along edge towards front and rear. Press tool/cover edge upwards towards outside (above all in area of engaged retaining lugs (2)).

Remove cover to side slightly.

Disconnect plug connection.

Remove cover.

Installation:
Retaining lugs and tabs must not be damaged, replace cover if necessary.

Do not crush plug when fitting cover.





Replacement of actuating unit only:

Raise tabs (1) slightly and detach actuating unit (2).

Installation Note:
Tabs and catches of actuating unit must not be damaged.





Replacement of lumbar support switch only:

Press catches (1) on left/right to one side and

remove switch (2).





Removing and installing/replacing rear left cover

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove carrier for front cover Removing and Installing/Replacing Carrier For Outer Cover on Left or Right Front Seat





Release screw.





1. Remove cover from guide and turn towards bottom rear.
2. Unclip cover upwards and remove.
