Quarter Window Glass: Service and Repair

51 37 171 - Replacing rear left or right side window





Special tools required:
- 41 6 120 41 6 120 Socket Wrench Socket WAF13





Warning!
Power window unit has no anti-trapping mechanism.





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove side trim upper section at rear Removing and Installing/Replacing Rear Left or Right Upper Side Trim Section





Release screws (1) and remove window cavity cover (2).

Move door window into uppermost end position.





Screws (1) and nut (2) fall out easily; secure with body sealing compound if necessary.

Release screws (1) with Torx T30.

Release nut (2) with special tool 41 6 120 41 6 120 Socket Wrench Socket WAF13.

Remove door window glass (3) towards top.

Tightening torque:

1 - 51 37 2AZ [1][2]Quarter Window Motor
2 - 51 37 7AZ [1][2]Quarter Window Motor





Installation Note:
If necessary, replace adjusting screw (1).

Initial adjustment of pretension:

Attach adjusting screw (1) until flush on outside.

Check function.

Adjust rear door window Adjustments.
