SUBJECT
E70, X5 3.0i with N52K and 6HP19TU - Various Drivability Complaints
MODEL
E70, X5 3.0i with N52K and 6HP19TU from 12/06 up to 10/08
SITUATION
The customer may complain of the following transmission-related driveability issues:
^ Delayed engagement and a harsh jolt when accelerating from a stop (NIC - Neutral Idle Control feature). This situation occurs only during the engine warm-up phase (cold engine), and cannot be reproduced in the Sport Mode.
^ Harsh 1-2 upshift or a jolt felt during the 3-2 downshift on deceleration.
^ Harsh 3-2 or 2-1 downshift when decelerating to a stop.
^ Harsh jolt (bang from the back) felt when reaccelerating after coasting.
CAUSE
DME and EGS software calibration
SOLUTION
Check the vehicle's integration level.
[NEW]If the integration level is E070-08-05-525 or lower, then reprogram and recode the complete vehicle with the current ISTA/P version (target level is E070-08-09-520 or higher, introduced from Progman version V31.1).
