SUBJECT
M57Y The Service Engine Soon Lamp (MIL) Is On with Fault Codes 46CE, 4D11, or 4D12 Stored

SITUATION
The Service Engine Soon lamp (MIL) is illuminated with any of the following fault codes:

46CE: Reducing agent pressure line heating activation-short circuit to ground

4D12 or 4D11: Reducing agent dosage, long-term adaptation

CAUSE
DDE software calibration error

CORRECTION
Do not replace any parts.

Program the vehicle using ISTA/P 2.33.1 or later to the applicable target integration level.

Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.

Important note:

The faults 4D11 and 4D12 may not be associated with any fault description text or a test plan in ISTA.

This is to be corrected with ISTA 2.14.

[NEW] After programming, it will be necessary to recalibrate the metering (dosing) valve, using an ISID with 2.17.1 or higher.

[NEW] To perform the calibration, go into Service Functions / 01 Engine / Diesel Electronics (US version) / SCR system / Activations and calibrations.

[NEW] Select "B1365_D7USANAB-Activation and calibration of SCR system M57TUTOP2 US Diesel" from the hit list.

[NEW] Follow the test plan and select [3], Run SCR calibrations and then [1], First NOx sensor and/or second NOx sensor and/or metering valve.

[NEW] This will reset the adaptations for the metering valve and the fault/s can be cleared from the fault memory.
