51 16 026 - Replacing mirror glass
Warning!
If mirror glass is damaged:
Wear protective goggles and tearproof gloves during the removal operation.
Risk of injury by flaking-off glass splinters.
The right side is removed in the same way as the left side.
Tilt mirror glass (1) upwards.
Bend visible wire ends (2) with a suitable tool in each case towards middle and then move in direction of arrow and disengage.
Release mirror glass (1) by tilting and remove.
Note:
Look out for possible damage to mirror by tool.
Disconnect plug connections (1) for mirror heating from mirror glass (2).
If necessary, disconnect plug connection for automatic anti-glare control from mirror glass (2).
Remove wire (3) from mirror glass (2).
Installation Note:
Following parts of mirror glass must not be damaged or missing:
- Connections for mirror heating
- If necessary: guides for automatic anti-glare control cable
- Guides for spring wire clip
- Spring wire clip
Connect plug connection to mirror glass (2).
Clip both spring wire clip ends (1) into mirror glass (2).
Clip mirror glass (2) into mirror housing.

Check function.
