17 11 054 - Removing and installing right module carrier (N52K, N54)

Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.

Refrigerant circuit is under high pressure!

Avoid contact with refrigerant and refrigerant oil

Important!
Risk of damage!
Restart engine only when A/C system has been correctly filled.
Follow instructions Removal and Replacement for opening and replacing parts in refrigerant circuit.
If A/C system is opened for more than 24 hours:
Replace desiccant insert Service and Repair for A/C system.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove left module carrier 17 11 052 Removing and Installing Left Module Carrier
- Drain off air conditioning system 64 50 010 Drawing Off, Evacuating and Filling A/C System (R 134a)
Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 64 53 6AZ [1][2]Expansion Valve.
Detach A/C lines (2) from A/C condenser.
Installation Note:
Replace all sealing rings and moisten with refrigerant oil.
Lift out right module carrier (1) together with A/C condenser (2).
Release A/C condenser from module carrier. In so doing, release lock (1) on side of module carrier in direction of arrow.
Installation Note:
When reinstalling the radiator and module carrier (1), ensure without fail that the radiator is correctly seated in mounting (2).
Add final details to vehicle.
Evacuate and fill A/C system 64 50 010 Drawing Off, Evacuating and Filling A/C System (R 134a).
