51 16 000 Removing and installing or replacing mirror on left or right front door

Special tools required:







Partially unclip door trim panel (1) in area rear view mirror with special tool 00 9 317.
Secure door trim panel (1) with suitable tool (2).
Partially loosen cover for door window frame (3).







IMPORTANT: Secure exterior mirror against falling.

Disconnect plug connection (1).
Unfasten screws (2).
Tightening torque 51 16 1AZ.

Replacement:
Due to the thread-tapping screws, the tightening torque of the new mirror is increased by 2 Nm.
Tightening torque 51 16 1AZ.







Remove mirror (1) outwards.

Installation note:
Run a function check.







Installation note:
Sound insulation (1) must not be damaged.







Replacement
- Modify mirror glass
- Convert housing on exterior mirror
