N63 - Service Engine Soon (MIL) Lamp Is On with Fault 1D2008 Stored

MODEL
F07 with the N63 engine produced up to March 2010

SITUATION

The Service Engine Soon lamp (MIL) is on and the following map thermostat fault is stored in the DME:

Fault 1D2008 Map thermostat, mechanical: jammed open.

CAUSE

DME software error

CORRECTION

This only affects vehicles with a current vehicle integration level of F001-09-08-532 and less.

Do not replace the thermostat, but only program the vehicle using ISTA/P 2.37.0 or higher.

Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.

If the car is already at an integration level of F001-10-03-500 or higher with the fault stored, then only proceed by performing the recommended test plan(s), using the latest version of ISTA.
