Removing and Installing/Replacing Heat Shield At Bottom

11 65 185 - Removing and installing/replacing heat shield at bottom (N63)





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Disconnect battery lead from negative terminal 61 20 900 Disconnecting and Connecting Negative Battery Cable
- Remove fan cowl with electric fan
- Remove alternator Service and Repair
- Remove both exhaust turbochargers
- Remove both exhaust manifolds





Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 11 65 3AZ 11 65 Turbocharger and Control.





Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 11 65 3AZ 11 65 Turbocharger and Control.
Remove heat shield (2) towards top.





Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 11 65 3AZ 11 65 Turbocharger and Control.





Release front screws on heat shield (1).
Tightening torque 11 65 3AZ 11 65 Turbocharger and Control.
Remove heat shield (1) towards top.





Assemble engine.
