12 51 xxx - Replacing plug-in contact for intake air temperature sensor (S65)





Special tools required:






Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Switch off ignition
- Follow instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery 12 00 ... Instructions For Disconnecting and Connecting Battery
- Disconnect battery negative lead 61 20 900 Disconnecting and Connecting Battery Negative Lead and cover
- Remove intake air manifold Service and Repair





Carefully open locks on cable duct.





Carefully raise front upper section of cable duct approx. 10 cm and secure, e.g. with assembly wedge kit 00 9 310.
Unlock plug-in contacts for inlet VANOS, bank 1, and oil pressure switch and release.





Remove cable tie in cable duct.
Remove cable insert (1) and open.

Important!
Pay attention to order of leads during assembly.





Cut leads for intake air temperature sensor according to repair kit and strip insulation. Connect repair kit leads using cable connectors and shrink-fit hose with 61 4 328 and 61 4 321.





Insert wiring harness in cable duct and secure with cable tie. Close cable duct again.
Assemble engine.
Check DME fault memory.
