33 17 005 Replacing Rubber Mount For Rear Axle Final Drive Mounting At Rear (M3, M Coupe)

Special tools required:







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove rear axle final drive.







Pull out PUR bearing from rear axle support (1) with special tools 33 0 101, 33 0 102, 33 0 105, 33 0 106.







IMPORTANT: Coat bearing bush on rear axle support and new PUR bearing at rear (2) with Circolight (see BMW Parts Department).

Insert PUR bearing (2) into rear axle support (1) in direction of arrow with special tools 33 0 103, 33 0 104, 33 0 105 and 33 0 106.

Installation note:
- Observe assembly sequence.







Assembly sequence:
Insert bearing in steps to avoid damaging the PUR bearing (1).

Procedure:
- Insert PUR bearing (1) 5 mm into rear axle support
- Release special tool 33 0 100.
- Rotate special tool 33 0 103 45° in direction of arrow (A)
- Repeat process until PUR bearing (1) is pressed in to limit position.
