52 14 392 Removing and installing/replacing front left or right crash-active headrest (from 09/08)







WARNING:
- Observe safety regulations when handling airbag modules.
- Incorrect handling may result in activation of the crash-active head restraint and thereby cause injury.

Switch off the ignition.







Necessary preliminary work:
- Disconnect battery earth lead
- Remove rear panel







Starting situation:
Head restraint is in the crash position after being triggered.
A triggered head restraint can be recognised by the padded section which has moved upwards.







Unclip plug connection (1) for crash-active headrest from holder.
Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.







Lever out protective cap (1).







Detach omega clip (1).







Press latch mechanism (1) and lift out head restraint (2).
