Trailer Hitch: Service and Repair

71 60 ... Replacing Complete Trailer Tow Hitch







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove rear bumper trim







Release screws (1).







Release screw (1).
Remove plug housing (2) and feed associated rubber grommet out of mounting.

Installation:
Make sure rubber grommet (3) is correctly seated.
Replace damaged rubber grommet (3) without fail.







Release nuts (1) on both sides and remove trailer tow hitch carrier (2) with a second person helping.

Installation:
Replace nuts.
Tightening torque 71 60 1AZ.
