51 45 310 Removing And Installing (Replacing) Centre Trim For Instrument Panel

Special tools required:







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove centre fresh-air grille







IMPORTANT:
Risk of damage.
Carry out the following operation carefully so as to avoid damage.
Tape off instrument panel trim in working area.







Release screws (1).
Lift out trim for center of instrument panel (2) from the mounting points (3) in the instrument panel cover with special tool 00 9 317 and pull trim forward.







Disconnect plug connections (1) and remove centre instrument panel trim (3).


Installation:
Make sure retaining clips (2) are correctly seated on centre instrument panel trim (3).
Replace defective retainers.







Replacement:
Remove centre console switch cluster.
Remove control panel for heater - A/C system.
