51 02 09 (611) Testing Procedure For Glove Box Complaints

E70, E71, E72

Situation:
The glove box testing procedure will be integrated in ISTA for precise failure analysis (pinpoint fault).

Affected vehicles:
all E70, E71, E72 up to version 09/2009







Due to partial mixed installation from the previous to the current glove boxes, the version to 09/2009 can not be exactly isolated. When the glove boxes are open there are the following distinguishing features:
A. previous glove box, 2 locking hooks (1) left/ right
- Testing procedure can be applied

B. current glove box, 1 locking hook (1) left/ right

Measure:
For the following complaints, the glove box testing procedure must be implemented in ISTA before a part replacement:
1. Glove box opens by itself
2. Glove box does not open or only slowly
3. Glove box does not open or close completely
4. Glove box does not remained closed/ or does not lock

Procedure:
Connect ISID or select affected vehicle:
- Function structure - 03 body - mechanics, noise, optics, leaks - Mechanics - malfunctions glove box
