SITUATION
The lower glove compartment lid springs open when driving on rough roads.
CAUSE
The lower glove compartment lid may not latch completely. If only one side locks, it may unlatch and spring open due to vibrations caused by driving on rough roads.
INFORMATION
The problem has been integrated into ISTA diagnostics. Follow the diagnosis test plan, using the latest ISTA version.
In "Information Search", select the "Function Structure" tab. Select "Body / Mechanism noises / Mechanism / Glove compartment malfunction", then press "Start Search".
Select test plan "AT5116_E70MECH Glove compartment malfunction".
The BMW Group has integrated NED (Non-electric Diagnosis) into diagnosis for the purpose of finding the cause of mechanical, acoustic and visual problems. Refer to Service Information B07 03 10 for more details.
CORRECTION
Refer to ISTA diagnosis for the required repair procedure.

Refer to the KSD2 to code the repair performed as prescribed by ISTA diagnosis results and the Warranty Policy and Procedures Manual for specific warranty coverage.
